Man United Nearing Major Summer Sale as Wan-Bissaka Agrees to Transfer Terms

Manchester United is close to finalizing its first major sale of the summer, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka reportedly agreeing to terms with Galatasaray. As the club aims to streamline its squad and reallocate funds for new signings, this potential transfer marks a significant step in their summer strategy.

The summer transfer window has seen several high-profile departures from United on free transfers, including Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial. However, no first-team players have been sold until now. Wan-Bissaka, also known as ‘The Spider,’ has garnered interest from the Turkish side, and recent reports confirm that negotiations have progressed significantly.

According to Fanatik, Wan-Bissaka and Galatasaray have agreed on personal terms, bringing the right-back closer to an exit from Old Trafford. Despite this, Manchester United and Galatasaray have yet to finalize the transfer fee. United has set a £12.6 million price tag on Wan-Bissaka, while Galatasaray is aiming to pay no more than £8.5 million.

Wan-Bissaka, who was signed from Crystal Palace for £50 million, has one year remaining on his contract. Given this situation, United expected to take a financial hit on his transfer fee, but the difference in valuations has created a significant gap.

Historically, Manchester United has faced challenges in maximizing returns on player sales. The current scenario with Wan-Bissaka illustrates this issue. If Galatasaray remains firm on their offer, United might consider retaining Wan-Bissaka, who, despite not being the most skilled player in the squad, has shown consistency and reliability.
