Manchester United Eyeing £119 Million Double Transfer
Manchester United are gearing up for a significant double transfer, targeting Morten Hjulmand and Goncalo Inacio, who collectively are valued at £119 million (€140 million).
Recently, reports from Record highlighted that Manchester United are leading the race to acquire Inacio, with Sporting Lisbon seeking €60 million (£51 million) for their central defender.
According to today’s update from O Jogo, United’s interest extends beyond Inacio to include Hjulmand, another key player from Sporting Lisbon. The Red Devils are keen on making impactful signings in the summer transfer window to bolster their squad for a Premier League title challenge next season.
Hjulmand, a 24-year-old defensive midfielder, has a contract running until 2028, featuring an €80 million (£68 million) release clause. Sporting’s president, Frederico Varandas, has made it clear that this amount is non-negotiable for Hjulmand’s departure.
Under the guidance of manager Ruben Amorim, Hjulmand has been a crucial part of Sporting’s success. He started 28 league matches, contributing to 14 clean sheets and scoring four goals while providing four assists, showcasing his versatility and solidity in midfield.
For Manchester United, strengthening both their defense and midfield is a priority, especially with the need to find a suitable replacement for Casemiro. The addition of Inacio and Hjulmand could significantly enhance United’s prospects for the upcoming season.
Given the circumstances, should Manchester United invest in securing both Inacio and Hjulmand?
