Omari Forson to Leave Manchester United as Free Agent in June

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Omari Forson will depart Manchester United at the end of June.

Speculation has surrounded Forson’s future, with his contract set to expire soon. The 19-year-old winger made his first-team debut in January, substituting for Marcus Rashford during stoppage time in United’s 2-0 away victory over Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup final. This appearance marked Forson as the 249th player to graduate from the renowned Carrington academy to the senior squad.

Before his debut, Forson participated in United’s pre-season campaign, including a match against French team RC Lens at Old Trafford. During the 2023/24 season, he made four Premier League appearances, totaling 68 minutes and providing one assist.

Despite United’s efforts to secure his long-term future, Forson consistently turned down their contract offers. Previous reports indicated ongoing negotiations, but Romano’s latest update suggests these discussions have been unproductive. Romano announced on X (formerly Twitter), “Omari Forson, set to leave Manchester United as free agent in June. After his debut in February with Man Utd first team, Omari’s set for a new chapter.”

Interest in Forson is already high, with several clubs keen on acquiring the young talent. Newcastle, Sunderland, and Michael Carrick’s Middlesbrough are among the teams reportedly considering a move for the promising forward.
