As the summer transfer window approaches, Arsenal is preparing for significant changes, with a particular focus on their midfield and attacking options.

In a conversation with JD Football, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano discussed Arsenal’s summer plans, indicating that a new midfielder is on the horizon, necessitating Thomas Partey’s departure from the club.

Thomas Partey, valued at £45 million, is expected to leave Arsenal to make way for fresh talent. Romano noted, “There are several players on the list. One player they’ve always appreciated is Douglas Luiz, but negotiating with Villa is never easy. They have several players lined up. There is a good chance they will bring in a new midfielder, Thomas will leave, Jorginho has extended.”

Despite Partey’s undeniable talent and moments of brilliance for Arsenal, persistent injuries have hampered his reliability. His fitness issues mean he often occupies a valuable squad spot and wage allocation without contributing consistently on the pitch.

While replacing Partey with a player of equal quality will be challenging, finding a more reliable alternative is a necessity for Arsenal. Partey has shown flashes of excellence, but as the adage goes, the best ability in football is availability—a criterion he has unfortunately failed to meet regularly.
