Manchester United seems to be considering alternatives if they decide to replace current head coach Erik ten Hag. Despite a recent run of victories, the team’s overall performance this season—having lost eight out of their opening 15 matches—has raised concerns.

The team faced consecutive defeats against Manchester City and Newcastle United, adding to the pressure on Ten Hag. Reportedly, some players are losing confidence in his management, potentially leading to a managerial change should the poor results persist.

According to sources, Unai Emery, currently excelling at Aston Villa, is one of the candidates for the job. Julen Lopetegui, previously with Wolverhampton Wanderers, is also being considered as a potential replacement for the head coach position at Manchester United.

Lopetegui, known for his tenures at top clubs like Real Madrid and Sevilla, is available for an immediate appointment. On the other hand, Villa is expected to resist any attempt to acquire Emery due to his remarkable performance with the team.

Emery, whose early stint in the Premier League at Arsenal faced challenges, has revitalized his coaching credentials at Villarreal and now at Villa, boasting a favorable track record of 26 wins, five draws, and 12 losses from 43 games.

While Villa flourishes in the Premier League, sitting in fifth place, Emery’s decorated resume includes four Europa League titles and a successful tenure at Paris Saint-Germain, adding to his appeal for the managerial role.

Manchester United will seek a resurgence as they face Fulham in their next Premier League fixture. Ten Hag remains resolute, stating his intent to reverse the team’s form in the upcoming crucial matches against Fulham, Copenhagen, and Luton Town before the November international break.
